Recently, Pinterest hosted our largest Pinterest Impact Lab Community Day yet at our San Francisco HQ, concluding a unique cohort-based learning experience for both our new participants and alumni. The Pinterest Impact Lab is our way of supporting Impact Partners by investing in their organisational and leadership capacities through cohort and community programming. Building on last year’s gathering, this year’s Community Day brought together 35 cohort members and alumni, 20 dedicated feedback coaches and three external speakers.
Community Day represents a powerful coming together of Pinterest’s Impact Partner change-makers, who are committed to advancing positive mental health outcomes in communities around the world. We believe that strengthening our community of Impact Partners is an important component to driving meaningful change. In closing out this year’s Pinterest Impact Lab programme, Community Day provided a meaningful space for reflection, connection and celebration. These needs were heightened by a broader environment of uncertainty and financial stress for the non-profit sector and community work.
Cohort members and alumni started the morning with in-person connection, a sound healing and affirmation experience and a conversation with non-profit, corporate and foundation leaders.
During an afternoon rich with storytelling and collaboration, non-profit leaders shared stories, exchanged ideas and received real-time feedback on three-minute pitches from sector experts and Pinterest employees.
Community Day wrapped up with on-stage presentations by this year’s cohort and a celebration with the community of alumni and feedback coaches from Pinterest and partner organisations.
Leading up to this capstone event, both new and returning Impact Lab participants engaged in a co-designed curriculum tailored to their biggest needs. This year’s programme was shaped by the leaders’ need for deepened knowledge around fundraising and strategic communications. Through an interactive learning platform and live expert-led workshops, participants gained actionable tools to address resourcing constraints and strengthen organisational sustainability.
The 2025 cohort of emerging-stage organisations embarked on an actionable, holistic cohort-based journey that included strategic communications, fundraising, operations workshops and personalised coaching. By intentionally building time for connection and peer learning, the programme also fostered a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
‘[I]t is clear that the programme was tailored to the needs of the leaders in the cohort. There is a common throughline in all of the work that we do, making connection and synergy almost effortless come Community Day. It has been both inspiring and reaffirming to witness how social impact leaders are showing up, navigating uncertainty and building for the future.’
Diana Tran, Director of People, Culture & Operations, Freedom Community Clinic
For the Pinterest Impact Fund alumni, the programme offered a series of expert-led workshops focused on leadership, operations and team well-being, focussing on themes of resilience and human-centred design. Alumni also served in a leadership capacity as peer mentors and thought partners for this year’s cohort, strengthening the collaborative ecosystem that makes the Pinterest Impact Lab unique.
‘It was more than an event; it was a space of brilliance, bold ideas and shared humanity, and [Pinterest’s] fingerprints were all over that magic. Your intentionality in curating this experience was felt deeply, and I’m honoured to be part of a community where partnership and purpose go hand in hand.’
Jordon Lewis, Chief Executive Officer, The Confess Project of America
For many, Community Day was not just a capstone—it was a launchpad. Alumni reconnected, new partnerships formed and connections deepened, seeding hope and inspiration to continue charting together towards a world that is more well and emotionally resilient.
