There are more than 88,000 advertising and media agencies in the U.S., each with a whole lot of conference rooms. But some of these conference rooms are long overdue for a refresh: Enter Pinterest, a place to discover new ideas, decide what to do and then take action.
To uplevel inspiring spaces among some of the most creative people in the world, and get people excited about what’s happening at the office, Pinterest invited top creative agencies McCann NY, JOAN Creative and Mojo Supermarket to design and build the conference room of their dreams using Pinterest.
From discovering ideas, to collaborating on boards, to bringing the conference rooms to life, Unboring My Boardroom helped these agencies manifest their visions for the ultimate creative oasis. With themes including Trippy Jungle Retro Futurism, Postapocalyptic Time Machine Stuck in 1976 and Big Apple Boardroom: 3rd on 23rd, participants were able to find the exact ideas and items they were envisioning on Pinterest and see those realized when the space was complete.
“Whether it's a conference room, a weeknight meal routine, or a new look to try, Pinterest gives people the ability to unboring anything,” said Stacy Malone, head of global business marketing at Pinterest. “It was a privilege to work with the most creative people in the industry and see that Pinterest can help make an idea real, from discovering, to deciding, to doing. So bring on those magic mirrors, emergency pizza buttons and giant cat heads! With Pinterest, it’s possible.”
To help bring the larger initiative to life, Pinterest partnered with Media.Monks for support with conceptual artists, production design and fabrication in-house. The team also partnered with Director Carlyn Hudson, known for directing dozens of sketches for College Humor and Funny or Die’s branded division and is currently adapting a queer YA book for Netflix. Photography was led by Winnie Au, renowned for her work with Vanity Fair UK, Harper's Bazaar Japan and Elle Decor among others and her signature celebrity portraits for luminaries ranging from Billy Porter to Jon Batiste.
