Both Gen Z and Millennials are shopping on Pinterest to regain freedom this summer and discovering new products to create fresh looks.

At the start of this year, there was a 20x1 increase in searches in the Shop tab a feed of shoppable, in-stock Product Pins and people who visit Pinterest weekly outspent non-pinners by 2x every month, with an 85% larger basket size2.

Shop tab searches show the differences between the two generations — and it’s not all about skinny jeans and side parts. Gen Z prefers pastel makeup while Millennials go bold, Gen Z is rebellious with leather for summer outfits while Millennials prefer floral skirts and flowy blouses, and Gen Z wants skater room decor while Millennials are creating crystal rooms.
