Our commitment to wellbeing starts with our employees

Creativity and inspiration thrive in a culture where employees are heard, valued and supported. Pinterest offers employees a range of benefits and programs that help equip them with the tools they need to build a life—and a career—they love.

Fostering belonging with Pinclusion Groups

Pinterest’s mission is grounded in a philosophy of inclusion and diversity. Pinclusion Groups, our Employee Resource Groups at Pinterest, offer employees a safe space to discuss and educate others on identity-based issues and topics.

“We believe people’s best work happens when they are the most inspired. Through benefits that meet real-world needs, employee-led groups that foster collaboration and connection, and our commitment to inclusion guiding everything we do, we strive to create a culture that honors curiosity and kindness.”

Inclusive partnerships and programs

To better reflect various identities, our Count Me In initiative invites employees5 to voluntarily self-select their gender identity, race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, caregiver status, veteran service and disability status.

The Pinterest Inclusion Advisory Council comprises leaders from some of the top civil rights and justice organizations in the country, including the NAACP, A4TE, AAPD and AAJC among others. The Council advises internal teams on product development, recruiting, onboarding and more.

Values Partnerships is the largest Black-owned social impact agency in the United States. Their affiliate company Gauge provided Pinterest with world-class research to inform our approach on everything from inclusive product features to heritage month programming. Values Partnerships also helped organize the Pinterest Inclusion Advisory Council.

We collaborate with organizations that share our values to establish a talent pipeline that champions inclusion and diversity. Our targeted recruitment efforts, in partnership with events and organizations including AfroTech, Lesbians Who Tech & Allies, AISES and Sistas in Sales, expand our reach to highly skilled candidates.

The Pinterest Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity for candidates from non-traditional tech backgrounds and those who face barriers to entry into the tech industry to start their careers at Pinterest. In 2023, we completed two 12-month programs in Product and Engineering, with 26 apprentices converted to full-time employees.

Our investment in wellbeing extends to our communities

We recognize that the internet has the potential to take a negative toll on mental health. We are committed to supporting wellbeing in our communities, both on and off Pinterest.

Pinterest Impact Fund

Through the Pinterest Impact Fund, we invest in initiatives that improve mental health, emotional wellbeing and equity outcomes in our communities. In 2023, we reached a significant milestone: $20 million invested in more than 60 nonprofit organizations, or Impact Partners.6

Pinterest Inclusion Fund

The Pinterest Inclusion Fund is an incubator program designed to build more equitable pathways to success for talented creatives from Black, Latiné, LGBTQIA+, Asian, Indigenous and disability communities.

Volunteerism and donation matching

Employees can access $1,000 in annual donation matching and take 40 hours of paid time off to volunteer for their chosen cause. In 2022 and 2023, over 2,800 employees participated, donating $1.8 million which, when matched by Pinterest, totaled over $3.1 million.7
